Sandi Shorago shared this: My cousin is a first grade teacher in the south and she shared an incredibly valuable resource with me recently that I wanted to share. Dr. Seuss wrote a book called “The Butter Battle Book” that I had not heard of until now. It’s a metaphor for the Cold War but is just as applicable today. I read it with my kids today and they were SO moved by it. I’m going to show them the video tomorrow for MLK Day and also have them write their own ending to the book (it ends without any resolution). I am happy to loan it to anyone – just let me know. Also, I’m thinking of doing what my cousin does each year which is to break the kids up into groups by eye color and do a simulation of the book.
